Hi! My name is Debbie, and I am excited to be joining The Therapy Innovation as a Counselor In Training. I have always been fascinated by what helps people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves after difficult life experiences. Before beginning my counseling career, I spent many years working in caregiving, client advocacy, and behavioral health support, where I discovered how much I value slowing down, listening carefully, and helping people feel truly understood. When I'm not working or studying, you will usually find me exploring a beautiful library, enjoying the peaceful scenery at Mission Trails, listening to audio books or podcasts about psychology and neuroscience, or spending time with my almost-grown kids. I also love learning—whether it's diving into the latest counseling research, discovering something new about the human brain, or finding practical ways to help people build meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Clinical Experience

My passion is working with adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity development, and major life transitions. I have a special interest in equine therapy, trauma recovery, attachment, neurodiversity, and helping people rebuild a sense of personal agency after surviving interpersonal trauma. As an autistic clinician myself, I also have a deep appreciation for the many ways people experience and process the world, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel accepted, respected, and free to be the authority over their own journey. There is no wrong way to have YOUR experience.
